Poligano a Mare
The old town sits on a limestone cliff and has viewing balconies overlooking the picturesque rocky coast, beaches and coves. It has a charming centre which has origins dating back to the 4th century BC when Greek settlers founded the city of Neapolis.
We recommend a meal at the Grotto Palazzese, a restaurant carved out of magnificent limestone rocks with a view over the blue-green Adriatic, or Specchia Sant’Oronzo, an Italian chic restaurant/bar which is a wonderful spot to see one of the most spectacular sunsets in the region.
Polignano a Mare is about 45 mins by car from Trulli Talily.
For centuries it was a strategic provenience, colonized, invaded and conquered by just about every major power of the day…
